Built-In Business Partner: The Joys of Working With Your Best Friend

Updated: Jul 8

People always ask us what it’s like to work with our best friend—and the truth is, it’s the best decision we ever made.

We already knew we were a good team. We’ve tag-teamed playdates, family dinners, spontaneous Target runs, and countless crisis texts (“I need to vent. Now.”). But turning that friendship into a creative business? That’s where the magic really started.

Working together feels less like work and more like an extension of who we are. We know each other’s strengths, weaknesses, quirks, and coffee orders. We’ve seen each other at our absolute worst—and we still show up for each other, ready to build something that matters.

There’s a rhythm that only exists between two people who get each other on a soul-deep level. One of us can start a sentence, and the other will finish it—on the podcast or in a strategy meeting. When things get overwhelming, we remind each other of the bigger picture. When one of us is doubting herself, the other is already there with a pep talk (or a margarita).

We laugh a lot. We cry sometimes. We dream big. And we keep each other grounded.

Of course, we have moments. We’re human. But we never forget what a gift it is to build something with someone who’s been in the trenches of life with you and still chooses to rise beside you.

Working with your best friend isn’t just joyful—it’s powerful.

And if you ask us? There’s no one we’d rather be in business with than the person who’s always been in our corner.

XO,

K + O
