Building Something Ours… Without Losing Ourselves

There’s something we don’t think people talk about enough…

What it actually looks like to try and build something of your own while you’re in the middle of motherhood.

Because from the outside?

It can look exciting.

Creative.

Fun.

And don’t get us wrong… it is.

But it’s also happening in the middle of:

Morning chaos.

School drop-offs.

Snack requests every 10 minutes.

Practices across town.

Dinner that still has to get on the table.

And the mental load that never really shuts off.

Somewhere in between all of that…

We’re trying to build a brand.

KO Unscripted didn’t come from having extra time.

It came from feeling like there was something on our hearts that we couldn’t ignore.

Something that kept nudging us to show up, share, connect, and build something real.

And so we started.

Not when life slowed down.

Not when everything felt perfectly balanced.

But right in the middle of the chaos.

The Reality No One Sees

There are days where we feel like we’re crushing it.

Content is flowing.

Ideas are coming easily.

We feel excited and aligned.

And then there are days where…

We forget to post.

We’re answering messages from the carpool line.

We’re trying to think of ideas while folding laundry.

We’re wondering if any of this is even making a difference.

Because building something from the ground up?

It takes time.

Consistency.

Patience.

And let’s be honest…

A lot of faith.

We’re Not Just Moms… But We Are Moms

This is the part that feels the most important to say out loud.

We are moms.

And we love being moms.

But that’s not the only thing we are.

We are still:

  • women with ideas

  • women with creativity

  • women who want to build something meaningful

And figuring out how to hold both of those things at the same time?

That’s been a journey.

Because we never want to lose ourselves in the process of showing up for everyone else.

But we also don’t want to miss this season with our kids.

So we’re learning…

It’s not about choosing one or the other.

It’s about weaving both together.

The Juggle Is Real

Some days look like:

  • recording content in the car

  • sending voice notes while making dinner

  • brainstorming ideas during kids’ practices

And honestly?

It’s messy.

There’s no perfect system.

No perfectly curated schedule.

Just showing up when we can, how we can.

And trusting that consistency doesn’t have to look perfect to still matter.

Why We’re Doing This

Because we believe in what we’re building.

We believe there are women out there who need:

  • real conversations

  • real friendships

  • real encouragement

We believe that showing up as we are — not polished, not perfect — actually matters.

And we want to create something that reflects that.

Something honest.

Something relatable.

Something that makes other moms feel seen.

If You’re in This Season Too…

Trying to build something…

Trying to figure out who you are outside of your roles…

Trying to balance motherhood and your own dreams…

We want you to know:

You’re not behind.

You’re not doing too much.

You’re not “selfish” for wanting something of your own.

You’re growing.

And growth in this season?

It’s going to look messy sometimes.

But it’s still meaningful.

We’re Still Showing Up

Even on the busy days.

Even on the overwhelming days.

Even on the days we question everything.

We’re still showing up.

Because this matters to us.

And if you’re here, reading this, supporting this, following along…

It matters more than you probably realize.

All our love,

K+O
